I’m going to wrap up my New Orleans articles (for now) with a what I will call “special experiences”. The first of this, is of course, a visit to the St. Louis Cathedral. This is one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States and it is well worth a quick stop to admire it.
While it doesn’t quite compare to the grand cathedrals in Europe, it is quite grand and certainly THE prototypical New Orleans landmark!
The next is none other than Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar which dates back to sometime between 1722 and 1732 and is supposedly the oldest building used as a bar in the United States. When you go, I recommend their Hurricane.
Finally, there is nothing more exciting than being caught up in a New Orleans wedding procession. If you are lucky enough to see one while visiting, just enjoy it!
And that wraps it up for New Orleans for now! I hope you’ve enjoyed these articles and if you haven’t visited, you should!
