The Connemara Peninsula is located near Galway which was my starting point for my short visit to Ireland. The main attraction to me was the Connemara National Park but just a drive through it was beautiful.
This was the one day where I was driven around – which was very nice. My friend Liam picked me up about noon and we headed out. First stop was the town of Clifden for a delicious seafood lunch at Mitchell’s where I enjoyed a warm bowl of fish chowder and some delicious mussels.
A couple of stops along the road got me some beautiful landscapes and photos of some local animals.
The last stop before heading back to Galway was at Kylemore Abbey which unfortunately had just closed by the time we arrived. I got to take a walk and enjoy the grounds but was not able to visit it. Yet one more thing for my next visit!
